That Time My 8-Year-Old Got Stabbed By A Lost Boy (True Story!)

It's no secret that Disney's Festival of Fantasy Parade at Magic Kingdom is one of our family's favorite shows! Everything is exactly on cue - the costumes are extravagant, the dancing is perfectly choreographed, and the cast demonstrates a huge amount of energy and personality.

On the afternoon of May 10, our family was fortunate to find a great viewing point near the Rivers of America. Our 8-year-old and 6-year-old were standing near the front with friends - while I stood behind with my husband (who had our 3-year-old on his shoulders). Suddenly, as Peter Pan and Wendy's float passed by and the Lost Boys went about their mischief - there was a small shout from the crowd. In a flash, our 8-year-old was back with us, with a shiner from...none other than one of the Lost Boy's swords!

Apparently, the Lost Boy lost his grip on his sword and threw it directly at our daughter's thigh! Ouch!

He leaned over and asked, "Are you okay?" After our daughter bravely nodded yes, he danced off in the perfect rhythm of the parade.

After putting a bit of ice on the deepening purple bruise, we all laughed about it and decided it was a sensational story to tell her classmates back home. After all, how many kids can say they've been attacked by a Lost Boy?!

We didn't stop in at First Aid, but maybe we should have - to request a picture with that infamous Lost Boy (and maybe free ice cream cones)! Ha.

Peter Pan - you've got to keep those boys in line. ;)
